Rappers Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa are teaming up for a new film, ‘High School,’ which the former calls “a comedy stoner movie, a little something for the stoners.” The two rappers, who joined forces for the song ‘This Weed Is Mine’ for Dogg’s forthcoming ‘Doggumentary’ album, will begin filming during the first week of May. The project grew out of a musical collaboration with the Pittsburgh MC, stated billboard.com. “Just being a fan of his music and likewise, he called me to be on a remix,” Snoop said after his performance Saturday night at the SXSW festival in Houston, Tex. There’s no distributor or release date set for the film and soundtrack. While appearing on many soundtracks, Snoop has acted in many films since 1994. Some of his film credits include ‘Caught Up,’ ‘Baby Boy,’ ‘Training Da,’ ‘Bones,’ ‘Starsky and Hutch,’ ‘Soul Plane’ and last starred in the 2010 movie ‘Malice in Wonderland.’ Meanwhile, Khalifa, making his film debut, is getting set for the March 29 release of his major label debut with his record ‘Rolling Papers.’ On the same day, Snoop releases his album ‘Doggumentary’ which is looked at as a sequel to his 1993 debut album, ‘Doggystyle.’ This wouldn’t be the first time a couple of rappers have collaborated on a film centering on drugs and comedy. In 2001, rappers Method Man and Redman starred in the comedy stoner film ‘How High,’ which grossed $31 million at the box office.
