After years of firing shots at one another, Wyclef Jean and his former Fugees bandmate Pras Michel have buried the hatch. The two emcees found themselves in an awkward situation while boarding a plane headed for Haiti yesterday when they realized they would be on the same flight. But instead of taking the low road and asking for a flight change, Clef decided to make amends with Pras. "On my way 2 Haiti ran into Praz, what should I do make peace or go sit somewhere Else! I Made peace 4 Haiti!" tweeted Wyclef, who also posted a picture of them shaking hands. "Yo clef we should of flown privately ... I'm sorry man for criticizing you for flying privately to Haiti. Differences are not intended to separate, but precisely in order to realize our need of one another," wrote Pras, who also tweeted a pic.

On November 23, 2010, in DWU, HIP HOP, Jay-Z, MUSIC, Syndicated, by SOURCE: TheBoombox
It's been just one week since Jay-Z released his memoir/lyrical breakdown 'Decoded,' and it looks like another piece of Jay will hit bookshelves in 2011. Publishing house Penguin Group has announced that they'll be releasing a Jay-Z bio in March. The biography, aptly titled 'Empire State of Mind: How Jay-Z Went From Street Corner to Corner Office' will feature interviews from past collaborators and business partners Damon Dash, DJ Clark Kent and Questlove, to name a few. As described in the title, 'Empire State of Mind,' which was penned by Forbes magazine staffer Zack O'Malley Greenburg, will focus on Jay-Z's rise to fame as a rapper from the Marcy housing projects in Brooklyn to a mainstay on the majority of Forbes' top earners lists. In recent news, the hip-hop mogul's four-night stint with Eminem at Comerica Park on Sept. 2 and 3 and Sept. 13 and 14 at Yankee Stadium was listed among the highest grossing tours of 2010, bringing in close to $7 million.

By: Erica Lasan

Last Thursday Hennessy Artistry wrapped up its tour at NYC’s Ciprani Hall.  Nothing gets a night going like great drinks- which Hennessy kept flowing all night with signature cocktails, amazing entertainment and celebrity spottings.

The Roots (the Tour’s co-curators) took a night off of their gig as the house band for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to back the evenings amazing performances including: Q-tip (the Tour’s other co-curator), Ron Isley, Bobby Brown, the Queen of Neo-Soul Erykah Badu, Mike Posner, Eve and just when we thought the show was coming to an end they brought out Mary J. Blige.  Though it was exciting seeing and hearing everyone on stage, we must admit that Ms. Badu’s act turned out to be a major highlight of our night.  Her performance of “You Got Me” with The Roots and Eve sprinkled the night with fairy dust as it brought back memories of Hip-Hop that just made you want to close your eyes and soak in the night’s vibes.

Some of the event’s celebrity attendees included Selita Ebanks, Joy Bryant, Tyson Beckford, Top Model Toccara, Kat DeLuna, the members of Naughty by Nature, Melissa Ford, Melanie Fiona, singer Olivia and others.

As the artistry’s fifth tour comes to an end, Hennessy has once again proved itself to be master at the #artofblending musical magic and artistic personalities, we can’t wait to see what the tour will bring next year! tag.
